It's Official...

Today is the official start to my new career, I went into the office on Friday and cleaned out my personal items, so I am officially done. What a strange feeling that was. I had been employed there for almost 5 years (my first and only employer since graduating college - but filled many different roles while there). Saying goodbye to my co-workers was definitely the hardest part. I had created some really good friendships over the years and learned so much for them as well, both in work and life.

The part that I will cherish the most was hearing how I had touched other's lives. Knowing that Christ's love shines through me is such an honor to hear and one that I don't take lightly. These comments have made me realize that I need to be more intentional about showing Christ's love through my actions. I left the office with that challenge.
I will miss the interaction with my co-workers and the constant mental challenges that my job brought. I also feel the need to increase my walking time everyday as I'm not constantly running from one meeting to another; but maybe I have already replaced that with the constant trips up and down the stairs to change diapers :)

I don't look at the situation of things being lost, but just moving on to a new chapter in my life - I am now Mommy and not Employee. As I write this seeing the little guy playing on the floor in front of me makes every bit of the situation worth it ten times over.
